How to Choose the Best Waffle Maker

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

Waffle MakersThere are so many waffle makers in the market that one would never have expected finding the best waffle maker would be so difficult. Let us however sort out your needs so we can find the best waffle maker for you.

Let’s start with how do you like your waffles? If everyone in your family likes the same kind with the crispy crust, light, airy and evenly cooked then you’ll not need a waffle maker with browning or heat control settings that professional kitchens use.

If you have kids who want their waffles cooked slightly different meaning some more browned than others then a unit with heat settings might be best. There are also basic waffle makers that are surprisingly cheap at around $25 and are probably best for beginners. You just need to make sure that for even batter distribution and cooking it is necessary to flip the unit half-way through the baking process. If you can afford it though professional waffle makers have deluxe add on features like a digital timer and an automatic shut-off which can come in handy if you are forgetful.

Essential Sport Drinks

美捷登 竭诚为您提供生物医学领域最新研究进展 :I recommended some sports drinks to my badminton teammates. One of them is the Sparkling Coconut. It is specially formulated to contain electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride and carbohydrates for energy. Electrolytes are known to be the electrical conductors that keep each system of our body functioning. Whereas, glucose provides fuel or energy to keep the body going; this can be of great help to athletes because they perspire a lot during strenuous practice or competitions. Not only water is lost when sweating but electrolytes, glucose, vitamins and minerals as well. It is a necessity to replenish these through sport drinks like Sparkling Coconut as soon as possible for this can cause fatal effects.

The common effects caused by lack of electrolytes and glucose include cramping, hyponatremia and hypoglycemia. People think that by drinking a lot of water, everything lost during perspiration is replenished. Little did they know that water doesn’t contain complete essential electrolytes one needs. Increased water intake leads to hyponatremia (low serum sodium), that when left untreated can cause seizures or even death. Lack of potassium can lead to cramping that when left uncorrected may lead to heart complications or death, too. Lack of glucose in the body may lead to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which can as well lead to comatose or death. Added ingredients in sport drinks like Sparkling Coconut are special flavorings and coloring for an exciting drinking experience.

The Versatility of Blenders

Chocolate ice-cream cups & balloons5A good blender is a must in any modern kitchen, as they can be used for making so many different kinds of food, desserts and drinks.

My favorite thing to do with my KitchenAid 5-Speed Blender is smoothies. I usually just put some ice, some milk, a few ice cubes, a banane and whatever fresh fruit or berries I have around into the bowl and let it work it’s magic for a minute or two. I don’t think I have ever failed with this one.

Another thing I frequently use the blender for is making potato and leek soup. After preparing the ingredients in a sauce pan, I just add them to the blender, and about a minute later I have a smooth and creamy soup. Cooking doesn’t get much simpler than that.

For desserts, milkshakes is my choice. It’s must like making smoothies, but instead of the milk I add vanilla or chocolate ice cream depending on what flavor I am in the mood for.
